About this guide
With a mixture of dynamic international and local expert speakers, the 11th National Allied Health Conference will bring together both allied health therapy and science professions. The conference will canvas the current and emerging issues that shape allied health as 'front and centre' in best patient and community centred care now, and in to the future. The conference will explore the theme 'Allied Health: Front and Centre', and will highlight allied health's contribution in the health continuum through a number of subthemes including:
- Models of care
- Advances in technology
- Training and education
- Advanced and extended scope of practice
- Research and quality improvement
- Workforce development
- Allied Health marketing and profile
Providing care to diverse populations, the allied health workforce is one of the most valuable, agile and influential in healthcare and forms one of the three pillars of the patient care workforce. Through networking and collaboration, the conference will ensure allied health professionals are able to empower patients, drive faster recoveries, and create a more efficient and effective health system.
We are excited to highlight the conference dinner on Tuesday 10 November which will feature the HESTA Primary Health Care Awards. The Awards will recognise the dedication and professionalism of individuals and teams involved in making a real difference in the lives of patients or to the quality of a service, at every stage of the delivery of care in primary health.
With the vibrant city of Melbourne, as the host for this year's conference, we look forward to welcoming you to this outstanding event.
