About this guide
As the conference grows in size each year, the number of venues large enough to meet our increasingly complex requirements becomes fewer. We are confident that Centre de Convencions International de Barcelona (CCIB) will meet our needs and will provide all the facilities that we have come to expect.
As we go to press, the number of registrants has reached almost 3,500 from over 90 countries. Our truly international gathering of medical and health professions educators, researchers, administrators and students provides a wealth of experience from many different settings and cultures, and enhances the conference for everyone. Whether in the formal conference sessions or in the networking around the venue, there are so many opportunities for us all to share our experiences - what has worked, or what has not worked so well for us - and to learn from the experiences of others.
Once again, we make no apologies for the packed conference programme! It may make your choice of what to attend even more difficult than in the past, but we were overwhelmed by the thousands of abstracts submitted, and were amazed at the variety of content and the innovative ideas.
We've tried to make the conference programme user-friendly, and this year have offered an alternative “slimmed-down” version for those who prefer not to carry around a heavy programme. Whether or not you use the programme, the Conference App is available to give all the information you need and allows you to build your personal schedule.
We hope you will tweet about sessions you attend and share your views with others - please use #amee2016 in your tweets. Participants not able to attend the Conference are joining us through AMEE Live and sessions in the Auditorium will be live streamed around the world. These participants too will be tweeting and joining in the discussions.
If you need any help during your stay in Barcelona the Worldspan team, the AMEE staff, the Local Organising Committee and the Student Task Force are here to help.
On behalf of AMEE and the Local Organising Committee, we wish you a happy and fulfilling time at AMEE 2016 and hope you return home invigorated and full of ideas to implement and to share with colleagues.
