I'm in my second year of a PhD in Health Research Methodology, specializing in clinical epidemiology, at McMaster University. During my time at U of T (2012-2016), I double majored in Human Biology: Health and Disease and Immunology. I first became passionate about infectious disease research during my undergraduate studies, when I took microbiology and epidemiology courses, and worked with infection prevention and control at Mount Sinai Hospital as a summer research student. I started my MSc in 2016 and recently transferred into the PhD stream. I'm currently interested in learning robust research methodologies to better answer research questions about infectious diseases, focusing on influenza and bacterial infections. This graduate training aligns well with my long-term objective to lead research initiatives that will improve clinical practice, and inform health policy and decision-making locally and globally about infectious diseases.
