Samantha Kappagoda is co-Managing Member of Numerati® Partners LLC, which coordinates a data analytics investment and development ecosystem with a mission to curate the next generation of scalable data-intensive risk and liability management enterprises by providing resources that are critical to accelerating the development of nascent leading-edge inferential surveillance, monitoring, and predictive analytics technologies for deployment in the forensic domains of RiskTech, LitTech, FinTech and InsurTech (litigation technology, regulation technology, financial technology and insurance technology).
Samantha is also an investigator at RiskEcon® Lab for Decision Metrics @ NYU Courant, established in 2011 in order to apply a range of computational and analytical methods to commercial, consumer and population-related societal trends; and a Visiting Scholar at Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU.
Previously, she was Senior Economist/global head of analytics at Caxton Associates, a hedge fund investing in global markets across asset classes, with approximately $12 billion of assets under management. Before that, she was an Economist in the Operations Evaluation Department of The World Bank in Washington D.C.
Samantha received an M.B.A. in Analytic Finance and Statistics from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. She also holds an M.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto, and a B.Sc. (Honours) in Mathematics from Imperial College, London.
