Hideo Yoshizawa began his career as a game creator at Tecmo, where he directed the original Ninja Gaiden for the NES. The president of Tecmo had tasked him with creating a game featuring ninjas, but aimed at the American market. Thanks to Yoshizawa's keen sense of gameplay design, Ninja Gaiden was a hit. Later in his career, Yoshizawa ended up directing the Mr. Driller and Klonoa series for Namco. He is now a freelancer and working on multiple projects for different companies.
