AUI collaborates with the scientific community and research sponsors to plan, build, and operate cutting-edge facilities.
AUI is proud to have played a fundamental role in establishing the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) 60 years ago, working with NSF and responding to the expressed needs of the research community. We have helped NSF maintain NRAO, and now the Green Bank Observatory and the Long Baseline Observatory, as world leading radio astronomy observatories.
AUI is focused on research excellence, supporting the university community in research, education and technology. We believe that enhancing STEM education and engaging the public are core elements of our mission. We are committed to fostering diversity and broadening participation in our endeavors.
