This will be a session to think about how to make the Code For Life (codeforlife.education) project even more diverse and inclusive, especially for our new game for teenagers.
Code For Life was created in 2014 by volunteers at Ocado to provide free, open source games and teaching materials to primary schools, clubs and beyond. We focus on logical thinking, and we want all children to feel inspired and confident about technology from a young age.
The outline should be:
5-10 min of intro about Code For Life
2-5 minutes of demonstrating Rapid Router, our first game for primary schools
2-5 min Show more about what we want to achieve for our new game for teenagers, a cool game with coding and time travel!, focusing on diversity and digital literacy.
Brief overview of secondary school curriculum.
10-20 min Then we will make the attendees play a mockup of the game to gather feedback and make them understand more
20-30 min We will then have a short workshop "Build your own level" where groups can come with ideas for the game, how to integrate bits of the curriculum in a level for the game, etc
Les personnes parlant français sont les bienvenues.
