Briana Bierschbach is the state politics and government reporter for MinnPost, where she has covered Minnesota policy and campaigns for the last four years. Bierschbach got her start in journalism at the Minnesota Daily, the University of Minnesota's student-run newspaper, where she covered the 2008 U.S. Senate recount and Minneapolis City Hall. She also exposed a city council candidate for fabricating his backstory to boost his candidacy. After college, Bierschbach joined the Associated Press as a temporary reporter at the Minnesota Capitol, which jump started her career as a political reporter. She's also worked for Politics in Minnesota, the Pioneer Press and the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal. In 2015, she was named young journalist of the year for her work covering state politics.
