Chris Ison is an associate professor at the University of Minnesota School of Journalism and Mass Communication, teaching news reporting and media ethics. He spent more than 20 years as a reporter and editor, mostly in the Investigative Projects Unit at the Minneapolis Star Tribune, where he won a Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting in 1990 for a series about the St. Paul Fire Department's links to people who profited from arson. He was the paper's assistant managing editor for investigative projects from 2001 - 2004. He is co-author of a textbook on media ethics.
