The Turangawaewae Regatta is a significantly historical annual event that takes place in Ngaruawahia, on the banks of the Waikato River at Turangawaewae Marae.
The event brings people together to exchange knowledge and ideas, building relationships and empowering the development of social, economic, environmental, spiritual and cultural ventures for whanau, hapu, iwi and the wider community.
2018 will see the Turangawaewae Regatta split over four days. 14th-15th March 2018 will see the waka kopapa for primary & intermediate schools, and waka kopapa racing for high schools happening on 16th March 2018.
The main regatta day will occur Saturday 17th March 2018 and will see a range of activities ranging from waka, kapa haka, maori kai, toi and many more.
