This plant is a relative to the monstera. Often found climbing over other plants, or the trunks of trees with the aid of aerial roots. Grows as a large semi woody shrub with enormous glossy leaves and a single erect unbranched stem that tends to fall over and sprawl when the plant gets large.
The robust stem bears stout aerial rootlets between conspicuous leaf scars. The leaves can grow up to 3 ft. This plant is poisonous if eaten, and may also irritate the skin.
