Dr. Michele Devlin is Professor of Global Health at the University of Northern Iowa and Adjunct Research Professor at the US Army War College in Pennsylvania. She is a specialist in refugee, immigrant, and cross-cultural engagement with underserved populations, particularly in disasters and emergency settings. Dr. Devlin is widely published, and has won numerous local, state, and national awards for her work. She has trained thousands of professional audience members from the military, law enforcement, emergency management, public health, and other occupations on effectively working in culturally complex environments. Dr. Devlin has served as a US Army Civilian in Afghanistan, and volunteers actively with the American Red Cross, FEMA Community Emergency Response Teams, the Iowa Disaster Medical Assistance Team, the Iowa Disaster Mortuary Operations Team, etc.
