Eric Sorchik brings 30 years of emergency planning, response and recovery experience to the emergency management profession. Prior to his retirement he served as the State Emergency Management Training Officer, New Jersey State Police, Office of Emergency Management for 16 years.

Eric has worked with corporate entities, and the American Society of Industrial Security, in the development of contingency and business continuity plans.

Served as New Jersey's representative at the National Domestic Preparedness Office, and the National Governor's Association, Terrorism Policy Summits in Williamsburg, Virginia and Atlanta, Georgia. Selected by the Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police to chair New Jersey's First Domestic Preparedness Planning and Coordination Group.

Eric was one of ten validated facilitators for the United States Department of Defense, Domestic Preparedness Program; completed senior official policy development workshops with the mayors and senior staffs of forty major U. S. cities.

U.S.State Department, Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program, Eric has worked with the senior leadership of over 30 foreign nations assisting them to develop comprehensive plans to prepare for and effectively respond to catastrophic incidents.

Adjunct Professor, Fairleigh- Dickinson University. Recipient of the Blanchard Award for Academic Excellence in Emergency Management Training.

He serves as the Deputy Mayor of New Egypt, NJ where his responsibilities include development of local legislation, review of County, State and Federal legislation, liaison to emergency services, personnel administration and budget development. He also serves as Plumsted's Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator where he assisted in the response to Hurricanes Irene and Sandy. He serves on the NJ League of Municipalities, Emergency Management Committee offering policy and legislative commentary to the State OEM and the Office of the Governor.
