Andrew Friend started his professional career working in EMS in San Diego. He has responded to Hurricane Rita (2005), San Diego Fire Storm (2007) Hurricane Gustav (2008). Mr. Friend joined the Prescott Hotshots (2008/9) spending approximately 1,800 hours responding to type 1-5 incidents across the Nation. In 2010, Mr. Friend journeyed to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with King Faisal Specialists Hospital Research Centre (KFSHRC) where he provided his expertise in various duties including EMS, incident/disaster management (Coronavirus-2014) and Facility Management and Safety. In 2015, Mr. Friend was promoted to Emergency Manager for KFSHRC-Riyadh, which treats over 1 million patients annually. In 2015, Mr. Friend was asked to consult on the CBRN Committee to help draft the National Action Plan for the Kingdom. In 2017, Mr. Friend was promoted to Disaster Clinical Specialist (Director of EM) and is currently a member of the steering committee for the Oversees Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Riyadh. In 2018, Mr. Friend was the Accreditation Manager for the first Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP) assessment of a Hospital in the world.
