Eli Fresquez is Assistant General Counsel for the NYC Mayors Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) where he works on citywide compliance issues related to various federal, state and local laws that ensure equal opportunity for people with disabilities. As a liaison to NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM) Eli works on inclusive citywide emergency planning as well as supporting the citys emergency operation center. Previously Eli worked at NYCEM where he led a number of community outreach efforts and contributed to the development of a multifaceted settlement agreement requiring the city to make changes to its emergency plans in order to better support the needs of people with disabilities as required by the ADA. Eli began his career in public service at the NYC Department of Homeless Services where he worked in shelters across the city. Eli also worked for the NYS Division of Human Rights where he was responsible for investigating and filing division initiated complaints of systemic discrimination. Eli is an attorney from New York Law School with BAs in Political Science, Philosophy and Economics from the University of New Mexico.
