Mary Weidel has 20 years of experience in floodplain modeling, analysis, regulation, risk reduction, communication, and program/project management. Currently, she works for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Institute for Water Resources with the Dam and Levee Safety Programs serving on the Public Awareness and Communications Team. She has served as the Detroit District Program Manager for the Flood Plain Management Services Program, Flood Risk Management Program, and Silver Jackets Program. She has served as an advisor to the USACE National Nonstructural Committee from 2012-2018. She has a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, and is a registered Professional Engineer and Certified Floodplain Manager.
