The Digital Impact Alliance (DIAL), in partnership with the Digital and Technology Research Group from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex have just published new research into tackling gender inequalities in open source communities. The research explored what type(s) of involvement of women in open source communities are likely to reflect their voice and experiences and result in projects that are better informed by a gender perspective among other related questions.

In this fun, interactive session, they will share some of the highlights from this research and then feedback, after which participants will reflect on your own experiences and behaviours, identify tangible steps that you can take in your own working lives to combat these gender inequalities (through a framework of Conformist, Reformist and Transformist actions).

Come prepared to take action - attendees will be encouraged to make a public commitment to positive change at the end of the session!
