Cyndi Lake joined the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in January 2018 as an Emergency Operations Coordinator. During her tenure with NTSB, she has launched to nine NTSB investigations in every mode investigated by the Board (aviation, rail, highway, marine and pipeline), in support of family assistance operations. Before joining the agency, Cyndi was the Director of Safety, Security and Emergency Management for Inova Alexandria Hospital, where she served as the hospital safety officer and the primary liaison for law enforcement, Fire/EMS, and public health. Prior to joining Inova, Cyndi led the Alexandria, VA Health Departments Public Health Emergency Management Division where she was responsible for public health emergencies. Cyndi is a Certified Emergency Manager and obtained her Master of Public Health from the George Washington University with a concentration in Environmental and Occupational Health, and Certificate in Emergency Management and Public Health. Cyndi is an EMT-B volunteer with the Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the National Capital Region Incident Management Team.
