Lee Newsome is CEO/Training and Exercise Manager of Emergency Response Educators and Consultants, Inc. He has dedicated his skills in the successful growth of EREC to provide quality planning, training and exercise programs to the public and private sectors. Lee has over thirty-five years of experience in both fire and emergency management. He has held management positions in a mid-sized municipal fire department and served two years as the Area Coordinator for the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
Lee serves as an adjunct instructor for FEMA’s EMI instructing in the Master Exercise Practitioner Program and the Incident Command System Curricula Train-the-Trainer since 2009.
Lee serves as a Subject Expert voting member on the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committee for NFPA 1600, 1600, Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity/Continuity of Operations Programs since 2000 and Technical Committee on Mass Evacuation and Sheltering, writing the NFPA 1616, Standard on Mass Evacuation, Sheltering, and Re-entry Programs since 2013.
