Mikki Munson is a Wyoming native and grew up on a ranch in Meeteetse WY. She has been in the Wyoming National Guard for 18 years, where she works as the J2- Intel NCO for the Wyoming Military Department Joint Staff. Mikki also planned Yellow Ribbon events which are pre, during, and post deployment cycle support events and trainings for soldiers and their families.
Mikki worked in substance abuse and suicide prevention where she chaired three coalitions: Stop Suicide Cheyenne, Tobacco and Wellness, and Laramie County Prevention of Alcohol Problems. She educated and mobilized the local community, policy makers, and stakeholders on the effects of tobacco and alcohol using local data and evidence based strategies, to identify gaps while working with stakeholders to close those gaps.
Mikki is currently working in the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security as their Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resiliency Program Manager. She is the Critical Infrastructure Analyst for the Fusion Center and works with US Department of Homeland Security assisting in Physical Security Assessments on infrastructure around the State of Wyoming.With her background in prevention and her current day to day work with the Threat Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (THIRA) and Stakeholder Preparedness Report (SPR) she has experience with data analysis and how it can be used to effectively use to identify gaps and work with stake holders to close those gaps.
