Ms. Natasha Joseph is a Safety Professional (Grad. IOSH) who is also qualified in emergency management. Her training includes Emergency Operation Centre Management and she is an Accredited Manager with the Emergency Management Accreditation Program. Natasha employs a practical and risk-based approach to strategic business management in normal and emergency situations. With over 10 years experience in diverse industrial environments, Natasha has progressively become more involved in Emergency Management. She describes the 2017 Hurricane Season, as the moment she had an epiphany. Natasha witnessed the socio-economic impact of climate change and natural hazards on the affected locations in the Caribbean region. Years of growth and progress were eliminated in a few hours. She believes that we need to better educate and prepare our communities to manage natural hazards to ensure resilience rather than blindly accepting the outcome of so-called natural disasters as simply, a part of life.
