The demand for quality online learning continues to increase. In this session, attendees will learn about a three-year course enhancement model focused on providing opportunities to ensure the best quality teaching and learning experience for faculty and students in an online environment. The areas of focus include principles of effective online teaching and best practices, faculty professional development workshops, resource inventories, mini-grants for course enhancement, and the use of instructional design services. Attendees will learn about the coordination of this model for course enhancement, including a brief introduction to how the initiative was carried out across multiple universities. Resources developed as part of the initiative will be distributed to participants, and they will hear examples from a participating faculty member about how they have been put into practice. Presenters will discuss the benefits of this multi-pronged approach, as well as the lessons learned. Attendees will walk away with resources they can immediately put into practice to improve their own online teaching experience or develop their own faculty development programs.
