International Virtual Exchange (IVE) is a technology-facilitated pedagogy that offers students the opportunity to interact in substantial ways, either synchronously or asynchronously, with peers in other parts of the world, while engaging in (inter)disciplinary focused work within an existing course. In this panel, instructors, instructional designers and administrators will offer various perspectives on planning and implementing IVE projects. IVEs aim to increase student access to international learning experiences and enhance their learning through immersing them virtually in global perspectives and collaborative assignments. With an uncertain new academic year and the possibility of more cancelled study abroad plans, IVE projects can allow more students to engage in international experiences by reducing existing barriers such as travel restrictions, public health concerns, cost, etc. Ample time for Q&A will be included.
