Danielle Leek, PhD, is the Director of Academic Innovation & Distance Education at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston, MA. In that role she oversees online programs and leads the College’s Open Education program which serves 4000+ students in over 200 courses annually. To date, the OER program at Bunker Hill has saved students over $1.5 million in textbook costs. Danielle recently received an Open Education Research Fellowship for her investigation of digital equity issues in higher education. Her publications and research focus on strategies for measuring and promoting student equity and success through engagement in college classrooms. Previously Danielle was the Director of Professional Learning at Campus Compact where she designed the new Digital Credentialing program for community engagement professionals. She received her PhD in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa and her MBA from Grand Valley State University.
