CD Covington’s first German textbook had a map with the eastern third shaded dark red and labeled “Deutsche Demokratische Republik.” By the time it got to her hands, the vocabulary was long outdated (bell bottoms and reel-to-reels). The map was obsolete shortly thereafter, but the history of divided Germany continues to interest her. She studied chemistry, German, and pharmacy, and decided that she'd rather be a German teacher. Her fiction has appeared in anthologies, including Substitution Cipher. She is a graduate of Viable Paradise XVII.
