Catherine Cooke Montrose, originally from Laramie, Wyoming, now lives in Seattle. Her Mask of the Wizard trilogy from Tor and The Winged Assassin trilogy from Ace were published in the 1980s under the name Catherine Cooke. The Wendigo Border by Catherine Montrose was published as a horror novel but written as a contemporary Western fantasy in 1995. Since then she has taught college, worked in nonprofits, and written a new epic and a young adult series, currently making the rounds of editors' desks. She has an aerospace engineer husband, two sons in college, and two large standard poodles who prefer her to sit at home and write instead of going to conventions.
