Kathleen Jennings is an illustrator and writer from Brisbane, Australia. Her work is heavily influenced by folk and fairy-tales, and she is particularly interested in the techniques of storytelling as they apply to both writing and illustration. Some of her most recent illustrations are in the Art Show, and online at tanaudel.wordpress.com (blog) and kathleenjennings.com (portfolio).
She has illustrated books for publishers including Small Beer (most recently Delia Sherman's Young Woman in a Garden), Subterranean (Catherynne M Valente's The Bread We Eat in Dreams), Tartarus (Angela Slatter's The Bitterwood Bible), Ticonderoga (Black-Winged Angels) and Fablecroft, with comics in two YA anthologies from Candlewick (most recently Monstrous Affections). Her short stories and poems have appeared in several magazines and anthologies, including a selection for the Year's Best Australian Fantasy and Horror.
She has been shortlisted for two World Fantasy Awards and an Aurealis and has won several Ditmars. Her attendance at this year's convention was supported by funding from the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
