Marie Brennan

Marie Brennan is the pseudonym of Bryn Neuenschwander, an American fantasy author. Her works include the Doppelganger duology (2006) (reissued as Warrior in 2008), including A Natural History of Dragons: A Memoir by Lady Trent (2013), and The Tropic of Serpents: A Memoir by Lady Trent (2014); as well as her Onyx Court series; and numerous short stories. The first of the Onyx Court novels, Midnight Never Come, published 2008, received a four star-review from SFX Magazine, and was followed by In Ashes Lie (2009), A Star Shall Fall (2010), and With Fate Conspire (2011). This year Brennan is honored by the World Fantasy Convention in the Novel category for A Natural History of Dragons: A Memoir by Lady Trent (Tor Books). A Harvard University graduate, Brennan notes a background in archaeology, anthropology, and folklore. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where, in addition to writing, she spends her time practicing piano, studying karate, and playing a variety of role-playing games.
