Patricia McKillip

Patricia Anne McKillip was born in Salem, Oregon on February 29, 1948. She started writing at 14, and "has been writing ever since - except for a brief detour when she thought she would be a concert pianist."


She won the World Fantasy Award in 1975 for The Forgotten Beasts of Eld, and again in 2003 for Ombria in Shadow; the Locus Award in 1980 for Harpist in the Wind; and the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award in 1995 for Something Rich and Strange, in 2003 for Ombria in Shadow, and in 2007 for Solstice Moon. She's also been nominated for both the Hugo and Nebula Awards.


She currently lives in Oregon and is married to David Lunde, a poet.
