Robert Knowlton worked in the antiquarian book trade for over 25 years, picking up a few books along the way for his personal collection. This in turn yielded a number of articles for such publications as American Fantasy, The Horror Show, Iniquities and Weird Tales. He also served as a core contributor to The Penguin Encyclopedia of Horror & the Supernatural, and edited four issues of Borderland, a small-press horror magazine of note. More recently, his survey of Canadian weird fiction over two centuries, '"Out of the Barrens" was published in Tesseracts Thirteen. At present, he is still seeking new pleasures in the ever-growing spectrum of fantastic literature.
