Dorothy Hearst is the author of the Wolf Chronicles trilogy, which tells the story of how the wolf became the dog from the wolf's point of view. Set 14,000 years ago and narrated by a young shewolf, the books are based on the theory of wolf-human co-evolution, the idea that wolves, and later dogs, helped make us the dominant species on the planet. The third book in the series Spirit of the Wolves will be published by Simon & Schuster on December 2nd.
Previously Dorothy was an acquiring editor at Jossey-Bass/Wiley, where she published books for nonprofit, public, and social change leaders. She loves dogs, hiking, martial arts, and reading anything she can get her paws on.
