Dr Rachel Schmidt

Rachael's current interest in specialised seating services for the provision of customised wheelchair procurement was originally generated by an unsuccessful proposal to attract state government funding for a Melbourne-based seating service in the early 2000s. Her PhD research was designed to fill the research gap and provide evidence-based data for sustainable seating service and wheelchair procurement funding. The findings from this study titled: "An in-depth case study into Australian seating service experience: insiders' perspectives'" provides relevant evidence based data for all practitioners involved in wheelchair and assistive technology prescription, support, service and procurement, within an Australian perspective.
