Melissa Johnstone has worked as a research assistant in the Health Services Development and the Data and Research teams at HWQ since 2012. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Melbourne, she went on to work at the Water and Eliza Institute for Medical Research for 6 years. Following this she was employed at the University of Dundee (UK), and the University of Queensland, where in 2013 she published in Nature Cell Biology. She has also worked as a tutor for undergraduate students learning about the Australian healthcare system at QUT. Melissa is nearing completion of her Master's degree in Public Health at QUT. She has a strong research background and is particularly interested in service delivery models in rural and remote primary health care.
