I will discuss our knowledge of the stellar halo of the Andromeda Galaxy(M31), and review the many discoveries that have been been made concerning this system over the last decade. I will contrast this with the apparent lack of a stellar halo around its close companion, the Triangulum galaxy (M33), and I will conclude with an introduction to a new survey seeking to probe the three dimensional metallicity structure of the halo of our own Galaxy.
