I intend to review recent developments in understanding the contribution of globular clusters to the halo of the Milky Way. Evidence from the peculiar chemical signature shown by globular clusters, as well as from theoretical modeling, help us to estimate how much these stellar systems (or their progenitors) contributed the the mass budget of the halo. The information from large surveys (like SDSS) or from complementary observations (like the census of old pop.II variables in different environments) will be discussed.
