Astronomy from the Antarctic has come of age in the last decade. Astronomy and Astrophysics from Antarctica is a program within SCAR that helps to coordinate and facilitate research programs and scientific infrastructure in Antarctica. SCAR itself (the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research), is an ICSU body (like the IAU), charged with international coordination of Antarctic science.
SCAR AAA consists of four working groups. These are:
- Site testing, validation and data archiving.
- Arctic site testing.
- Science goals.
- Major new facilities.
All astronomers are invited to join these groups and contribute to the future of Antarctic astronomy. Please drop by our booth and say hello!
