The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) is a comprehensive research base for particle and astroparticle physics, accelerator physics and technology, radiation technologies and applications, as well as for nuclear analytical techniques and interdisciplinary research.
Particle Astrophysics Division (PAD) of the IHEP takes cosmic ray physics, high energy astrophysics and space astronomy and instrumentation as the main research direction. At the same time, PAD develops actively the underground neutrino measurements and the CMS experiment at CERN.
Currently there are about 180 staff scientists and engineers, and more than 100 graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scholars working in the division. The current director of PAD is Shuang-Nan Zhang (zhangsn@ihep.ac.cn).
