Carol Isen is a labor relations practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience as an employer and union representative. She is currently the Chief Labor Relations Officer at San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). Ms. Isen previously worked for the City and County of San Francisco, as the Director of Labor Relations and Community Programs for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. Prior to her government service, Ms. Isen was the Associate Director of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, Local 21 AFL-CIO (IFPTE), representing 7,500 municipally employed professional employees in several SF Bay Area cities, counties and special districts. She served on the executive boards of the IFPTE and the Alameda County Labor Council.
Ms. Isen has her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Michigan and her Master’s Degree from the University of California at Berkeley, Department of City and Regional Planning. She currently serves as a member and secretary of the Board of Directors of Oakland School for the Arts, an multidisciplinary arts-based charter school serving middle and high school students. Ms. Isen resides in Berkeley, California.
