Nate Kowalski is a partner with Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. Mr. Kowalski is an accomplished labor and employment lawyer who represents public agencies in state and federal court, before arbitrators, personnel boards and civil service commissions, and in administrative agencies such as the Public Employment Relations Board. He has achieved remarkable results and decisive victories for a number of prominent public agencies, including the City of Long Beach, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and more than a dozen Superior Courts across California. He has repeatedly been named to the Daily Journal’s list of the top 75 labor and employment lawyers in California, as well as the Daily Journal’s list of the top 25 municipal lawyers in California. His published decisions include the precedent-setting cases, Johnson v. Arvin-Edison Water Storage District (2009) 174 Cal.App.4th 729 (District not subject to wage and hour claims brought under California Labor Code and Wage Orders), and Upland Police Officers Association vs. City of Upland (2003) 111 Cal.App.4th 1294 (scheduling of investigatory interviews under POBR not subject to manipulation by POA attorney).
