Deborah is a founding partner in Van Dermyden Maddux Law Corporation, a Sacramento-based firm that specializes in employment law. The firm focuses on workplace investigations, advice and counsel to employers, and coaching. Deborah had conducted hundreds of investigations into claims of workplace misconduct, including claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and claims of improper governmental activities. Deborah is also a trained mediator and a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.
Deborah received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis, School of Law in 1993. She has a broad base of experience in employment law, including acting as litigation counsel, serving in an in-house role, and now advising and serving hundreds of clients throughout California. She is a member of the California Bar, and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Section as Programs Chair. Deborah is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of Workplace Investigators, and the International Coach Federation.
Deborah is an experienced trainer. She provides regular training to employers on topics. Her training is consistently rated excellent, and focuses on best practices and practical approaches and solutions.
