Marie Monrad is the Vice President of Strategy and Operations in the Office of Labor Management Partnership at Kaiser Permanente. She is an integral member of the Leadership Team of the Labor Management Partnership and works to ensure that the partnership is integrated into the overall strategic and operational goals of the organization.
Before coming to Kaiser, Marie was the Public Policy Director for AFSCME, the international union which represents 1.5 million public sector and health care workers, based in Washington DC. She represented the union’s leadership in health care reform efforts under the Clinton Administration and worked with many state governors and legislators on health finance and other public policy issues. She also served as the Assistant Director for Organizing for AFSCME, based in Oakland, and oversaw large organizing and contract campaigns for the national union’s western regional office, including drafting and passing legislation in Sacramento affecting service workers.
Marie has a Masters Degree from Harvard University in Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moorhead State University in Minnesota.
