Nancy Weiss has over 30 years of management experience in local government. As Assistant City Manager for the City of Napa, Ms. Weiss oversees administrative services functions including Finance and IT, Human Resources, City Clerk functions, labor relations, risk management, and community outreach. She has been actively involved in intergovernmental and community based partnerships and issues ranging from affordable housing and homelessness to infrastructure financing and development.
Prior to coming to Napa, Ms. Weiss served as Town Administrator for the Town of Yountville where she facilitated community strategic planning and oversaw construction of major infrastructure improvements including wastewater reclamation, flood control, water acquisition, public safety and recreational facilities.
Ms. Weiss previously worked in the City Manager's Office for the cities of Benicia and Healdsburg, assisting in the day to day management of finance, budgeting, human resources, as well as economic development and community planning, public communications, and outreach and infrastructure development. She has also had first hand emergency management and recovery experience involving floods, earthquakes, and hazardous waste issues.
Ms. Weiss holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and in Sociology with emphasis in Law at the University of California, Davis. She attended Golden Gate University Master of Public Administration program and is a graduate from the Harvard Kennedy School State and Local Government Senior Executives Program.
