Teri Silva is the Director of Human Resources for the City of Sunnyvale where she oversees labor and employee relations, employee development, risk management, employee benefits, and recruitment and classification. Before joining the City of Sunnyvale, Teri worked for the City of Salinas for 10 years serving as the Human Resources Officer and Acting Assistant City Manager her final year in Salinas before taking the position with the City of Sunnyvale. Before working with the City of Salinas, Teri worked for the Soledad Unified School District for 15 years, ending her career with Soledad USD as the Director of Human Resources.
Teri has a Master's Degree from Chapman University in Human Resources Management, and a Bachelor's Degree from Golden Gate University in Human Relations. Teri has been a member of CALPELRA since 1999, Society for Human Resource Professionals since 1998, International Personnel Management Association since 1999 and Public Agencies Risk Management Association since 2000. Teri received the Human Resources Agency Award for Excellence from NCCIPMA-HR in 2013 and Employee Relations Department Professional Excellent Award from the League of California Cities in 2007.
