124th APLU Annual Meeting

Welcome to APLU’s 124th Annual Meeting, the premier meeting of senior leaders from America’s public research universities, land-grant institutions, and state university systems.

More than 1,000 public university presidents, chancellors and other senior leaders are expected to attend this important annual event. This year’s meeting serves as the start of APLU’s year-long celebration of the Morrill Act sesquicentennial anniversary.

Proposed by Senator Justin Smith Morrill of Vermont and signed into law in 1862 by President Abraham Lincoln, the Morrill Act of 1862 established the land-grant system of colleges and laid the foundation for the nation’s vibrant public colleges and universities.
