Belinda Boyd

Belinda Boyd if an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida. Areas of specialization: Directing, Acting, Voice, Playwriting. She is also a Walt Disney World Show Director – shows include: theme parks, FIFA World Cup -South Africa, Disney Event Group, and Disney Institute. Additional professional directing include productions in New York, Texas, Toronto, North Carolina, Kentucky, Vermont, Florida, and Tennessee. A member of the Dramatist's Guild - selected works include: We Carry the Dream (Hangar Theatre) The Dream Keeper (Virginia Stage Company), Mother of Civil Rights (Juneteenth Festival), In Focus: A Recollection of Black Thought (University of Louisville) and Fortified Harmonies (UNCG Theatre). A member of Actors' Equity Association, she has performed with several Shakespeare companies including: Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, Shakespeare and Company, and Kentucky Shakespeare. Selected commercial credits include: Disney, Wycliffe, Thrifty Car Rental, Belk, Zora's Roots-(Zora Neale Hurston), National Education Association, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Invited Guest Instructor: Association of Image Consultants International, South Africa Tourism, University of Ohio, New York Film Academy, Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre Programs, Interactor Simulation Systems, LLC and Bellarmine University. Recent Awards include: Kennedy Center Medallion for Artistic Excellence from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Suncoast Regional Emmy, and UCF Women of Distinction.
