Michael Joplin

Michael Joplin graduated from the UT Theatre Department in 2004. His most recent works include Fixing Troilus and Cressida (Rude Mechs), Lungs (Hyde Park Theatre) Out of Ink (Austin Scriptworks), Fiasco (Hideout Theatre), Process (Hideout Theatre) Everything is Established (Physical Plant), The Suicide (Paper Chairs), Am I White (SVT). Accolades include a B. Iden Payne award for Supporting Actor (Am I White) and Best Actor in Austin (2015 Austin Chronicle Reader's Poll.) He teaches improv comedy at Merlin Works School for Improvisation and theatre, dance, and music to kids at Creative Action. He can be seen in local TV commercials (Grande) and a film The Golden Rut that premiered at Austin Film Festival in October 2016. His improv comedy troupes The Knuckleball Now, The Available Cupholders, Brain Trust, Migas, and The Known Wizards play in improv theatres around Austin. He makes music as Manateemann and spins records as DJ Mickey Jay.
