Patrick Shaw's an Austin-based playwright, performer and educator. He's developed work at the Millay Colony, Great Plains Theatre Conference, Sewanee Writers' Conference, and Norm's Fish Camp at Tofte Lake. Over the years, he's collaborated as a performer with Spessard Dance, Bakerloo Theatre Project, The Duplicates, Underbelly, and Paper Chairs. A few years ago, he received an MFA in Playwriting from the University of Texas at Austin where he won an Austin Critic's Table Award for outstanding student work. Before grad school, he recruited for the O'Neill Theater Center's National Theater Institute and lived in New York City where he produced his first plays with his old company, FullStop Collective. Teaching has always been a big part of his work, and he currently works at Southwestern University. In the summer, he runs the Rude Mechs's all-gender-inclusive summer theater program, Off Center Teens.
