Ms. Strausser is a Senior Grants Policy Specialist, Policy Office, Division of Institution and Award Support, within the Foundation's Office of Budget, Finance, and Award Management. Beth is responsible for policy formulation and implementation and also conducts various outreach meetings for public and private sector research and grants administration officials. As part of her on-going duties, she responds to both phone and e-mail inquiries from the external community and is involved in the design and beta-testing of many of the Foundation's internal and external electronic proposal and award systems. Prior to her tenure in the Policy Office, Ms. Strausser was a Grants Officer in the NSF Division of Grants and Agreements where she negotiated, evaluated and managed high-profile, complex grants and cooperative agreements. Beth has been a member of the Policy Office team since 1998 and has worked at NSF since 1991.
Ms. Strausser has a Masters of Public Administration from American University, an A.B. in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College, and has completed coursework at the University of Surrey in England. Beth is a past Board Member of the National Grants Management Association and has received both an NSF Director's Award for Program Management Excellence and Administrative Excellence and a Director's Award for Collaborative Integration.
