Enhancing Event Experiences with Guidebook Apps

You may know Guidebook as the platform that powers event apps for your favorite conferences. However, you may not be familiar with all of the ways organizers are using Guidebook – from large festivals to diplomatic travel, Guidebook is helping to personalize experiences across all industries. Check out a few ways our users are leveraging Guidebook mobiles apps to innovate:

Outdoor Festival

The Los Angeles Philharmonic chose Guidebook for its centennial block party, CelebrateLA!, which brought over 100,000 Angelinos together for a day of music, culture, and fun! The one day program featured 2,000 acts and took over an 8 mile stretch of the city. With such an extensive event program, they needed an app that would help event-goers navigate the sprawling event.

Enter Guidebook. The LA Phil team worked with Guidebook to create an engaging app that would help attendees get the most out of the day. To support the event, they created the Celebrate LA! app to simplify the large, complicated schedule. The Celebrate LA! App also enabled event-goers to personalize their schedules with  My Schedule, personalized schedule building. At the event, interactive route maps helped attendees navigate, ensuring attendees made it to all of their favorite acts.

Attendees could also get involved by sharing memories to social media, accessing the LA Phil’s gift shop, and saving the Celebrate LA! Spotify playlist right from the app.

Experiential Events

TEDx Mile High, the Denver-based independent TED chapter, partnered with Guidebook to go green and encourage connection-building for its event RESET. The TEDx organization, which hosts multiple events every year, sought a solution that would bring it’s community together and encourage dialog.

With Guidebook, the TEDx Mile High team created an app, TEDx Mile High: RESET, that both reduced the need for printed materials (saving them over $7,000!) and sparked dialog amongst the community. For the first time, attendees could interact directly with speakers and performers. One attendee noted, “I was able to use the app to meet and connect with my favorite speaker!”

Overseas Travel Programs

Every year, Project Interchange brings dozens of international leaders to Israel for in-depth seminars and direct engagement with senior Israeli, Arab, and Palestinian officials, business and civic leaders, and academics, and visits to historic and strategic sites. Since beginning its work, the organization has brought nearly 6,000 leaders from 110 countries to Israel.

Today, Project Interchange utilizes custom Guidebook mobile guides to provide participant groups with up-to-date itineraries and travel information, as well as to share practical information like common phrases and must-see landmarks. With Guidebook, the organization improved operational efficiencies and reduced paper waste. Additionally, mobile guides are also helping the organization provide participants with executive-level, tailored experiences.
