PDF Search: Key Resources at Your Fingertips

A well-designed app organizes information so that users can easily access what they need. Folders and icons are often enough to help users navigate your app. But sometimes your users just want to jump straight to the resource they are looking for. For such situations, in-app search is the perfect tool to quickly discover schedule details and other content. We are pleased to announce a very exciting enhancement to this functionality: PDF Search.

The in-app PDF just got better

Users can now search for PDFs with the new PDF Search functionality. You already know that you can use PDFs to provide app users with presentation materials, charts, graphics, forms, or any other informational resource. You can upload these files to a scheduled session or custom list item. Watch this video to learn more about the upload process. And if you want a step-by-step guide, check out this support article

PDF Search

In an app powered by Guidebook, end users can now open the navigation menu of a guide, tap the magnifying glass icon, and search the guide for sessions, list items, and PDFs linked to sessions or list items. This new search functionality looks at PDF titles as well as the content within the PDF. Your users will be able to instantly identify and navigate to the resources they need.

Offline mode

We know how easy it is to lose signal in convention halls or other large buildings where you’d like to pull up a presentation, a manual, a checklist, or other resources. PDF Search will continue to work in a limited capacity when users are offline or don’t have a network connection.
